This website does not create accounts, does not run analytics or advertising, and does not keep a database of bookings. When you send the booking form, your details are passed by our own web server to our email inbox — no outside form service is involved. The only outside services this site talks to are described below, and one of them (Google Maps) only loads if you click to view it.
This policy covers baanfarmthaicooking.com only, run by Baan Farm Thai Cooking School in San Sai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand. It does not cover WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps, or your own email provider — once you leave our site to use one of those, their own privacy policy applies to what happens there.
When you press "Send booking request" on our Contact & Booking page, the details you typed — name, email, date, class, number of guests, hotel or pickup location, any WhatsApp, LINE or WeChat details you choose to add, dietary or allergy information, and your message — are sent to this website's server, which emails them to baanfarmthaicooking@gmail.com from our own mailbox on this domain. The website itself does not store them in a database. To limit spam, the server also keeps a short-lived counter of recent form submissions per IP address. We use your details only to arrange and confirm your class, and dietary or allergy information only to prepare your food safely.
If sending fails, the form offers a fallback: it can open your own email app with the same details ready to send, or copy them so you can paste them into an email yourself — in that case nothing reaches us until you press Send. Once a message arrives it sits in our Gmail inbox like any other email, and from that point on is subject to Google's own privacy practices for Gmail, plus our own good judgment.
The typefaces used on this site (Fraunces and Inter) are hosted on our own server, not Google's. Your browser downloads them from us along with the rest of the page — no request for fonts is ever sent to Google or any other third party.
The map on our Contact & Booking page is not loaded automatically. It only appears, along with a request to Google's servers, if you click the "Load map" button. At that point Google may collect your IP address and set its own cookies, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The "Open in Google Maps" link near it is a plain link to Google Maps in a new tab and doesn't load anything on our page either way.
Buttons and links on this site that go to WhatsApp, LINE, WeChat, Facebook, or Instagram simply take you to that service. We don't receive anything about that visit, and once you're there, that platform's own privacy policy applies.
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps basic technical logs of visits (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting purposes. We don't use this data for tracking or marketing, and we don't share it with anyone beyond what our hosting provider needs to keep the site running.
This website does not set any cookies of its own. If you choose to load the Google Maps embed above, Google may set cookies at that point under its own policy.
Our cooking classes are kid-friendly and children are very welcome to attend with their parents — but this website itself is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children through it.
Depending on where you're visiting from, you may have rights under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act or, for EU/UK visitors, the GDPR — including the right to ask what information we hold about you (typically just an email you sent us) and to have it corrected or deleted.
